I have been following a very sad story… 70+ starving, emaciated Galgos (similar to Greyhounds – Spanish hunting hounds) were found in Spain. As an avid Greyhound lover, this story breaks my heart. Galgos del Sol, the rescue group in Spain who is working to save these hounds, is having an online auction on their Facebook page to help raise funds for this huge undertaking. I am donating 5 FREE hours of Graphic Design as an auction item. If you’d like to bid, please visit their auction here by 1/29/12. I was trying to think how I could help, and if I can contribute to saving even one life, it would be worth it a thousand times over.
Aussie Aussie Aussie!
Oy Oy Oy! Did this fun piece for an Australian client looking to commemorate their travels and experiences. Brings back memories of the Flight Centre days, that’s for sure! Although I never did make it over there…it’s definitely on the bucket list.
The Gretsch.
Ok, so I may be idolizing my new Gretsch…just a little. Lately though, she’s been sitting in the corner, and well, nobody puts baby in a corner.
She’s too pretty not to use in some art form or another. Plus, I saw a band last weekend and one of the guitarists had the exact same guitar – quite motivating! I really have got to get back into playing more!
…by that sin, fell the angels.
I read this Shakespeare quote and thought it was interesting…and voila, a t-shirt design was born! Thinking about submitting it to design by humans and seeing if it goes anywhere…
Your Brains Are No Match
… for my tractor beam
This was also inspired, yet again (as many of my pieces are) from a song. Check out the band Say Hi To Your Mom and listen to their song Your Brians Vs. My Tractor Beam. Fun, catchy little tune, easy to get stuck in your head!

Zap City, baby
The first opening riff of The Cult’s “Zap City” is the best opening riff, hands down. The old-school whine of the guitar in those first few seconds make you want to crack open a bottle of jager, jump up on the nearest table, rock your best air guitar and ditch your work suit, your latte, your 10am meeting and scream the lyrics of Zap City at the top of your lungs.
At least it has that effect on me…or maybe it’s a case of the Mondays.
Just listen to it, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
take back the city
take back the city for yourself tonight
i’ll take back the city for me
Woke up with Snow Patrol’s “Take Back the City” in my head…so I designed this little number to get it out. Combination of illustrator and photoshop, I also experimented with the perspective drawing tool in illustrator to make the buildings.
tiger vs. snake
Some days, you just feel like you are caught in an epic battle that will never end. Maybe you’re the tiger or the snake, maybe it’s meetings, deadlines, errands or the seemingly endless “to do” list. Anyhow. I think this is when I am most creative…sometimes the more pressure in life, the more ways one finds a creative way of moving forward.
